When will the Welsh Government publish full details of the new dental contract taking effect in April 2026?

The new contract is based on 13 months of extensive negotiations with dental professionals and the NHS. The proposals were set out in a public consultation and, as I set out in my oral statement last month, we are making eight changes based on the feedback we received during the consultation.
We will continue to work with the NHS and the dental profession to ensure implementation of the new contract next April is successful. This will include the publication of an “operational handbook” next month and officials are meeting all the local dental committees in Wales.
