Further to the statement by the Deputy Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education on 14 July 2026, will the Welsh Government give an undertaking that the forthcoming review of higher education funding will ensure that equitable maintenance support for part-time students is protected?
The Welsh Government recognises the importance of ensuring that students, including those studying part-time, are able to access the support they need to participate in and succeed in higher education. The forthcoming review of higher education funding will be wide-ranging. It will consider how students are supported to access and succeed in higher education in Wales, including the maintenance support available to both full-time and part-time students. The detailed scope of the review will be set out in its terms of reference, which will be published shortly as part of our 100 days commitment to commission this review.
