How is the Cabinet Minister monitoring the expenditure and outcomes of the £2 million extra funding for post-16 mental health allocated to Medr by the previous Government?
Answered by Deputy Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education | Answered on 23/07/2026
Welsh Government officials meet with Medr colleagues on a monthly basis to discuss progress on learner wellbeing arrangements across the tertiary sector, including mental health. Medr receives annual wellbeing and health funding monitoring reports from providers and will share analysis with officials when they receive the reports.
Medr is subject to in-year monitoring of its overall finances, and relevant policy officials monitor expenditure against ring-fenced funding allocations.
