Will the Cabinet Minister provide, for each Welsh university offering nursing degree courses, a breakdown of enrolled students showing how many are ordinarily resident in Wales, elsewhere in the UK, and overseas?
The most recently available data for higher education enrolments is taken from the HESA Student record for the 2024/25 academic year.

The data is based on the number of enrolments at a higher education provider that have been identified as ‘Nursing and midwifery’ subjects within the common aggregated hierarchy (CAH) subject groupings. The ‘Nursing and midwifery’ subject grouping includes the following subjects:
- Nursing (non-specific)
- Adult nursing
- Community nursing
- Midwifery
- Children's nursing
- Dental nursing
- Mental health nursing
- Learning disabilities nursing
- Others in nursing
All subject data is calculated based on the full person equivalent, meaning if someone is studying more than one subject, the enrolment can be split between subjects. For example, if a student is on a course that is evenly split between law and nursing, they would appear as 0.5 enrolments in law and 0.5 enrolments in nursing.
