Will the Cabinet Minister set out the timescale for the publication of revised Supporting Learners with Healthcare Needs guidance?
The Welsh Government has completed a review of the current Supporting Learners with Healthcare Needs guidance and work is underway to consider the introduction of an integrated statutory guidance for children and young people with healthcare needs in maintained schools.
As this work is at an early stage and is subject to further policy development and stakeholder engagement, we are not yet in a position to confirm a timescale for the publication of revised guidance.
In the meantime, schools and local authorities should continue to have regard to the existing statutory guidance to ensure learners with healthcare needs receive appropriate support.
