What progress has been made on the Crossrail in Cardiff?

Cardiff Crossrail is a Cardiff Council led scheme to improve public transport connectivity within Cardiff, with the initial phase of works focussed on delivery of a new tramway from Cardiff Central to Cardiff Bay. This initial phase has secured joint funding from both UK and Welsh Government and will significantly improve the railway connectivity between the city centre and Cardiff Bay, benefiting the wider city and region aligned to the South Wales Metro.
Great progress is being made on the initial phase of Cardiff Crossrail with site clearance and enabling works beginning on site this June and the main phase of work beginning in July.
