Will the Welsh Government scrap its commitment within the Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan to leverage Welsh Government's specific powers to embed anti-racism within the criminal justice system?

Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Minister for Social Justice and Equality | Answered on 15/06/2026

Racism remains a structural issue and it requires a cross-government approach. I am proud of Plaid Cymru’s role in delivering the Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan and this Government will work to embed it and build on it.

This plan represents a shared commitment with criminal justice partners to deliver fairer outcomes for all, across reserved services, including policing, courts, prisons and rehabilitation services, to ensure that people from all backgrounds are treated fairly and according to their different needs, including through every stage of the criminal justice system.
