Local connection is not a test for temporary accommodation but is used to determine which local authorities owe an applicant the main homeless duty.
Members of the Armed Forces, and those who typically reside with them, establish a local connection by virtue of serving or having served in an area.
Work is underway to review and update the National Housing Pathway for Ex-Service Personnel in Wales which provides advice and guidance to those about to leave the services, as well as signposting information for those who have already left the services.
