When did the Cabinet Secretary last review the possibility of reintroducing the Cardiff to Ynys Môn air link?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales | Answered on 01/12/2025

I haven’t reviewed the possibility of reintroducing the Cardiff to Ynys Mon air link since the then Deputy Minister for Climate Change made a decision to cease all support for the service following a full cost-benefit analysis of the future of the air service in June 2022.

A copy of the Written Statement can be found here: Written Statement: Future of the Ynys Mon – Cardiff Public Service Obligation (PSO) Air Service (8 June 2022) | GOV.WALES

Following that decision, the passenger terminal facility of Anglesey Airport was decommissioned, and the building lease between Anglesey Council and the Ministry of Defence was terminated.
