What discussions has the Cabinet Secretary had with utility companies regarding the installation of full-fibre broadband in Glyncoch, which was ranked the 51st most deprived community in the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation 2019?
I have met with a number of telecommunications companies regarding the installation of full-fibre broadband across all communities in Wales. In addition, my officials meet regularly with representatives from the telecommunications industry and continue to monitor the opportunities for collaboration with other utilities to improve digital infrastructure across the country.
Openreach has announced its intention to bring its commercial full fibre broadband build to the Pontypridd area and we anticipate that this should bring gigabit capable broadband access to the Glyncoch community.
