We do not endorse routine care being carried out in non-clinical environments where patient privacy or dignity is compromised.
It is the responsibility of health boards to capture operational data in relation to the prevalence of people being cared for in non-clinical environments, and to use this to take immediate action to reduce the risk of harm.
Health boards do not publish this operational data, but better and more consistent reporting is expected over the coming weeks to support the local delivery of services.
