What consideration has the Cabinet Secretary given to mirroring Scotland's approach to Bluetongue, namely exempting store and fattening animals from vaccine and pre-movement testing requirements?
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs | Answered on 02/10/2025
Bluetongue policy is kept under regular review. The latest temperature data and the associated risk of onward spread of the disease by vectors does not support a decision to allow movements of store or fattening animals into Wales without risk mitigation measures, such as vaccination or pre-movement testing.
