Will the Cabinet Secretary set out the Welsh Government's reasoning for establishing the Hwb?
The Find it, Make it, Use it, Share it report explored how digital technology could transform learning and teaching across Wales. It directly led to the creation of a national digital learning platform, Hwb.
The creation of Hwb was rooted in several key priorities, with a focus on ensuring equity of access for every learner, teacher, and school in Wales and reducing the “digital divide” between well-resourced schools and those with fewer digital capabilities.
Hwb has evolved significantly since 2011 and provides a once for Wales approach which delivers consistent, high-quality digital infrastructure, service and resources to all maintained schools to support the delivery of the Curriculum for Wales. The Hwb platform provides a secure, resilient, and centrally managed platform for schools which avoids duplication of effort and cost across 22 local authorities.
