What assessment has the Welsh Government undertaken to demonstrate that the current plans for a new hospital building on the site of the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Rhyl will be sufficient to alleviate pressure on the Ysbyty Glan Clwyd emergency department?

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, which is responsible for healthcare provision in North Wales, will have made this assessment based on its knowledge of local demand and capacity of services.

The first phase of work, which is the new hospital build, is designed to help alleviate pressures at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd by improving flow and reducing delays in the emergency department.
