Has the Commission given permission to the Government to use the templates and corporate branding of the Senedd to provide written responses to Senedd Committee recommendations, and what consideration was given to the risk of creating confusion regarding the understanding of the different responsibilities of the Senedd and the Government?

The Commission has been working to improve the accessibility of documents published on our website to assist people who use screen readers and other assistive technology.

The Welsh Government is the most frequent third-party provider of information to our committees and therefore Commission officials liaised with Government colleagues with a view to providing an accessible format for their submissions.  These Government documents are uploaded to the Committee pages on the  Senedd website and the Commission is committed to ensuring all aspects of the website are accessible. Since Autumn 2023, many Welsh Government departments have been using a template, developed with the Commission, to present their work in a way that greatly improves on previous practice – ensuring that important information can be read by more people.

To avoid confusion Welsh Government documents should clearly state they are from the Welsh Government and contain the Welsh Government’s logo. Commission officials will continue to work with Welsh Government officials to develop the template in a way that avoids confusion.
