What plans does the Welsh Government have to improve the water and sewerage infrastructure, and how much budget has been set aside to implement those plans?
In this Asset Management Period (2025–2030), the Welsh Government is working closely with both water companies operating in Wales – Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water (DCWW) and Hafren Dyfrdwy – to deliver significant improvements to water and sewerage infrastructure.
Ofwat’s PR24 Final Determinations set out the investment programmes for both companies, including significant uplifts compared to the previous period.
Both companies are also required to deliver their Drainage and Wastewater Management Plans, developed in collaboration with Natural Resources Wales and found on their respective websites.
This programme of investment marks a significant step forward, ensuring Wales’ water and sewerage infrastructure is modern, resilient, and capable of supporting both the needs of communities and the environment for generations to come.
