Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on the work reported to the Housing and Local Government Committee on 18 September 2024, as seen in paragraph 174 of the transcript, on developing a land strategy for Wales?
Work is continuing to develop our longer-term land strategy, and we are advanced in finalising our site acquisition principles. This work is also being informed by the recommendations of the Affordable Housing Taskforce in relation to land, including more collaboration across the public sector on land identification and knowledge sharing.
In parallel, building on our strategic purchase of sites in both Haverfordwest and Porthcawl, we continue to identify further appropriate sites across Wales for potential acquisition, where there is need and market failure, to accelerate the development of affordable homes.
