What is the Welsh Government's latest assessment of levels of underinvestment in rail infrastructure in Wales?

We have worked alongside the UK Government as part of the joint Wales Rail Board to develop a pipeline of rail infrastructure enhancements for Wales and the Borders. The total cost of the schemes in the pipeline is in excess of £4bn. The funding from the UK Government in the June 2025 Spending Review is targeted at delivering the immediate priorities identified by the Wales Rail Board within that pipeline.
