Fracture liaison services have been established in the six university health boards in Wales and mutual agreements are in place between Powys teaching Health Board and adjacent district general hospitals to ensure equal access to services for people living in Powys communities.
Whilst it is still early days, good progress is being made and 5187 patients were identified as being eligible for fracture liaison services, 3335 were treated and a further 1961 were followed up at 12 months in 2024. This compares to 3537 identified, 2239 treated and 485 followed up in 2023.
