Welsh Government can confirm that no immediate concerns relating to coal tip safety have been reported following the recent the wildfire and flooding events.
Welsh Government’s disused tip inspections programme identifies maintenance works needed to maintain the stability of disused coal tips and considers all relevant factors, including vegetation and flood events. The winter inspection round has recently concluded and no immediate issues have been reported to Welsh Government.
