What assessment has the First Minister made of the impact on Wales's net zero targets of the UK Climate Change Committee?

Answered by First Minister | Answered on 14/04/2025

The Climate Change Committee are our statutory advisors, they advise all devolved Governments in the UK and the UK Government. However, the CCC have no role in delivering the targets. The delivery of the targets in Wales will be achieved by Welsh and UK Government policy, the actions of businesses and our communities. The Committee advise on climate targets, the most cost-effective routes for delivering the targets and climate risk, resilience and adaptation. The advice changes over time as for example, the expected costs of the transition continue to fall and the benefits continue to grow.
