How many households in Carmarthenshire has the Help to Stay scheme supported so far?
The Help to Stay Wales scheme provides support to homeowners experiencing, or at risk of, difficulties in paying their existing mortgage. The scheme operates in two stages: first, providing expert advice from specialist debt advisors, and second, offering an equity loan if deemed necessary.
We do not hold the figures for the number of people in Carmarthenshire who have accessed the expert advice available at the first stage of the scheme. Those accessing the specialist debt advice may have sought solutions without needing to apply for an equity loan. Three households in Carmarthenshire have progressed to the equity loan stage. To date no households have received direct financial support.
The Help to Stay Wales scheme has been extended for an additional 12 months, until March 2026.
