What input has Welsh Government had so far in the UK Government's review of the higher education sector?

Answered by Minister for Further and Higher Education | Answered on 07/03/2025

The Cabinet Secretary for Education and I met with the UK Minister of State for Skills (Baroness Smith) on Monday 3 February to discuss the UK Government’s plans for higher education reform.

The needs of Wales and the role of the Welsh Government will continue to be the subject of discussions between ministers, in addition to ongoing discussions between Welsh Government officials and their counterparts at the Department for Education. This will inform our ongoing programme of higher education reform in Wales as set out in my Written Statements on 18 February and 3 March.
