Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on the availability of pathways for people with suspected allergies in Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care | Answered on 05/03/2025

Health boards are responsible for planning and delivering the provision of allergy services across their locality, in line with National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) quality standards. Allergy support across health boards in Wales varies; we are undertaking a scoping exercise to better understand the gaps in allergy service provision, access arrangements and the times people wait to access these services.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has started reporting specific waits for clinical immunology and allergy. Based on December 2024 data, 300 people are waiting an average 28 to 29 weeks. The clinical needs of the referral will indicate which waiting list the person is referred to. We do not hold this level of detail.
