What discussions has the Cabinet Secretary had with North Wales Police about the fact that there is no longer a cell in Llandudno police station?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Trefnydd and Chief Whip | Answered on 25/02/2025

Policing is a reserved matter and the responsibility of UK Government.

However, officials have sought an update from North Wales Police who has provided the following statement:

"North Wales Police have provided assurance that their three custody units, one in each geographical area of the force, are run in accordance with Home Office Authorised Professional Practice. They have also provided assurance that Llandudno is well-served by the nearby custody unit in St Asaph.”
