What is the Welsh Government's total spend on work carried out to improve productivity in the Welsh NHS?
Welsh Government supports improvements in productivity and performance through a number of mechanisms and funds. For example an additional £50m has been allocated this year for improvements in priority areas in planned care. There has also been a focus on the value & sustainability agenda and specific areas of operational productivity through the national programmes such as the Planned Care programme.
The external Ministerial Advisory Group on NHS Performance and Productivity is currently undertaking an independent review of the existing arrangements in place to support improvements in NHS Wales. I refer you to the answer I gave you, on 27 November in respect of WQ95095, on the costs of this group.
