What information does the Welsh Government publish regarding successful recipients of its grant funding?
Welsh Government grants cover a vast and complex range of different types of funding to support a broad range of organisations, businesses, and projects across the whole of Wales. This includes grant funding to public, private and third sectors as well as at times individuals. As such, information published on successful Welsh Government grant recipients can differ greatly from scheme to scheme.
Through the course of Welsh Government ministerial business, any substantive decisions made by or on behalf of a Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary (or Welsh Minister) will be recorded through ‘Decision reports’* which are regularly published on the external .gov.wales website. These reports can include information on successful grant scheme recipients, and outcomes e.g. name of the funded body; amount of funding awarded to each successful recipient. Under the individual Welsh Government grant scheme concerned, various information about the successful recipients or outcomes may be announced and/or published (e.g. Written Statements; press releases), - information provided will vary as it is determined by the Cabinet Secretary or Welsh Minister responsible for the individual grant area / policy portfolio.
*A Decision Report is a public notice providing a summary of the decisions made by Ministers. It is not the formal record of a Ministerial decision.
