Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on the status of each local authority's social housing grant prospectus, including the numbers of social housing committed to be delivered, by local authority?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government | Answered on 17/01/2025

Local authorities have been required to provide a prospectus for their Social Housing Grant programme since May 2021.  All local authorities have submitted a prospectus identifying their priorities for Social Housing Grant and the type of provision that is planned for delivery.  Each prospectus also provides a summary of the housing need and demand in each area based on their latest Local Housing Market Assessment (LHMA).

The numbers of social housing currently committed to be funded by each local authority is contained in each Local Authority’s Programme Delivery Plan (PDP).  The most recent figures for social housing both committed and future pipeline projects in PDPs are set out below.

The PDP is only part of the full picture of planned delivery as social housing will also be delivered via s106, and other capital programmes.
