What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the support needed for businesses affected by the closure of the port of Holyhead following storm Darragh?
The Welsh Government are in close contact with Anglesey County Council and wider stakeholders in order to assess the impact of the port closure, and while I am aware of some media reports of impacts on some local businesses, especially in the food and hospitality sectors, there has been no evidence presented of additional support required. Business Wales is there to support any businesses affected.
Officials will continue to work with the local authority to identify what support is required for businesses and individuals who have been immediately impacted by the temporary closure of the Port of Holyhead. The council are planning to open an online portal in January to gather evidence.
