What plans does the Welsh Government have to support the reopening of open access epilepsy services provided by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board which are currently closed due to staffing challenges?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care | Answered on 18/12/2024

The Welsh Government is committed to ensuring everyone with epilepsy has access to the best possible care. Officials work closely with the NHS Executive, the National Clinical Lead for Neurological Conditions, the National Strategic Clinical Network for Neurological Conditions and health boards to improve services.

It is the responsibility of individual health boards to plan and deliver services for their population and to take action to ensure continuity of service to maintain high quality care.

As the temporary staffing challenges are being resolved, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is working to ensure people can access the support they need. Everyone affected will be informed of the situation to ensure they continue to receive timely support.
