What progress is the national diagnostic board making in ensuring that teenagers and young adults with cancer can access diagnostics on an equitable basis across Wales, as outlined in the Wales Cancer Improvement Plan 2023-2026?

The Welsh Government is working with the NHS Executive to determine if teenage and young adult cancer could be subject to national commissioning arrangements by the NHS Joint Commissioning Committee.

The NHS Executive is developing a diagnostics implementation plan to outline further steps required to deliver modern and sustainable diagnostics services that will benefit all population age groups. Health Boards are responsible for planning and delivering diagnostics care to patients.
