Schools and governing bodies in Wales are responsible for sourcing staff, including engaging supply teaching staff. This can be via a local authority scheme, locally curated lists or commercial supply teacher agencies.
The Welsh Government has introduced a National Supply Pool for Wales to enable schools to source and book supply staff directly. Initial roll out within Ynys Môn has taken place and the practicalities of further roll out is being considered with local authorities.
