How will Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board use their allocation of the £50 million to reduce waiting times, including for children waiting for neurodevelopmental assessments?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care | Answered on 28/11/2024

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has received £4.6m from the £50m to reduce long waiting times and a further £2.9m to secure additional theatre capacity following the damage to the Princess of Wales Hospital roof.

The funding will support the health board to clear all log waits of 104-weeks and over by the end of March 2025, especially in orthopaedics. Residents in Cwm Taf Morgannwg will also benefit from the South East Wales regional cataract service.

The health board will also receive a share of the £3m to target long waiting times for neurodevelopmental assessments as part of the wider work to redesign services.
