What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the benefits of a) public expenditure; and b) patients’ wellbeing in relation to an increase in the deployment of combined cataract and glaucoma procedures?
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care | Answered on 06/11/2024
Combined glaucoma and cataract operations are a clinical decision based on needs of the patient.
Combined procedures have been carried out by glaucoma surgeons for a number of years across Wales, where appropriate and where the surgeon has been trained to do so.
