What steps is the Welsh Government taking to make Welsh education attractive to families where neither Welsh nor English are the household's first language, as only 2.5 per cent of children over 5 years old from these families receive Welsh-medium education?

Local Authorities are required to outline the steps they have taken to promote access to Welsh-medium education among families from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds.

RhAG (Parents for Welsh-medium education) has launched their new website with information and online resources about Welsh-medium education in 14 community languages.

We have also produced a series of videos, now available on social media, highlighting the positive experiences of families from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds who’ve accessed Welsh-medium education. The videos offer encouraging insight into how Welsh medium education fosters a sense of belonging, deepens links with Welsh culture, and strengthens community links. The videos include interviews with parents and learners, highlighting the inclusive and supportive environment of Welsh-medium schools and the transformative impact they can have.
