Will the Independent Commission on the water sector review the possible implementation of frequent real-time water quality testing across all bathing and non-bathing waterways in Wales, given the recent spate of sewage discharges into waterways across Wales and the risk this poses to environmental and public health?
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs | Answered on 07/11/2024
The Independent Commission will review the water sector in accordance to the direction set by its Chair, and in line with its Terms of Reference, available online. The Commission will seek the views of Wales’ experts to ensure the Welsh perspective is considered at the highest level.
The Welsh Government will consider the Commission’s recommendations and respond in due course.
