What assessment has the Cabinet Secretary made of the effectiveness of the delivery of social care in Pembrokeshire?

Answered by Minister for Children and Social Care | Answered on 21/10/2024

Welsh Government regularly monitors the delivery of social care across all local authorities. This is done monthly through the Social Care Checkpoint reporting and annually through review of the Performance and Improvement data and the Local Authority Social Services Annual Reports.

Welsh Government works very closely with Care Inspectorate Wales on monitoring of effectiveness of local authority social services. Care Inspectorate Wales review and inspect local authority children and adult social services.

The introduction of the new National Office for Care and Support and the new National framework for commissioning care and support provides opportunities for closer and more effective assessments of the effectiveness of social care delivery. The goal is not just to understand the services being delivered, but to understand people’s experiences of those services and the outcomes they achieve.
