Will the Cabinet Secretary provide a full list of stakeholders it has engaged with in the development of draft diversity and inclusion guidance for political parties to date?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Trefnydd and Chief Whip | Answered on 22/10/2024

The Welsh Government has engaged a broad range of stakeholders to inform the development of the guidance and raise awareness of our plans, including public consultation. To date, we have engaged at Ministerial and official level through a number of existing and well-established networks, including for example the Cross Party Group on Women, the Diverse 50/50 coalition and the Human Rights Advisory Group. This engagement work is continuing and, for example, I look forward to meeting shortly with the Senedd Women’s Caucus. The consultation, when it is launched next month, will provide an opportunity to formally gather views on the draft guidance from all interested parties and we will be taking steps to aim to ensure that everyone who has expressed an interest in being involved has an opportunity to feed into the process.
