A series of workshops are taking place to develop a Future Approach to Audiology plan for the next five to 10 years. This will result in the provision of value-based healthcare, reduce the demand on hospital ENT services and GPs, deliver better audiology services, and improve access and outcomes for the public.
Waiting times data reports on the waits for first fitting of adult hearing aids, however the demand for audiology services is wider. The introduction of a wider set of standards from April 2025 will capture waits for a greater set of pathways, including children services.
