The Agri-Tech Action Plan for Wales, sets out a vision to support the sector. Following the successful Hill Ram Scheme, delivered by Hybu Cig Cymru, Welsh Government continues to support farmers who are looking to improve the economic and environmental efficiency of their sheep flocks through genetics. The Welsh Sheep Genetics Programme, delivered by Farming Connect, works closely with world-leading genetic experts, focusing on data collection and analysis as a tool, including the use of Genomic data.
