What discussions has the Senedd Commission had with the Business Committee regarding increasing the number of days the Senedd sits in the seventh Senedd?

The timetabling of Senedd business is the responsibility of the Business Committee under Standing Order 11.9.
The Business Committee and Commissioners had an informal meeting in July 2024 and discussed a number of matters relating to the Seventh Senedd. Following this, on 1 October, 2024, the Business Committee agreed to propose that a new committee be established to take forward work on preparing for the transition to and support for an enlarged Seventh Senedd in May 2026.
It is anticipated that the terms of reference for the new committee, subject to approval by the Senedd, will encompass matters such as the organisation of business in the Seventh Senedd with a view to making recommendations to the Business Committee.
