Will the Cabinet Secretary provide a full breakdown of the total cost to the Welsh Government of the Senedd Cymru (Electoral Candidate Lists) Bill, to date?
The costs for external legal advice related to the Senedd Cymru (Electoral Candidate Lists) Bill were previously provided by the then Counsel General in response to a written question on 30 April 2024. The costs were £38,100.
Due to officials working across a number of different projects, the Welsh Government does not record staffing costs against specific activity. I am therefore unable to provide a breakdown of the cost of work on the Bill separate from the Senedd Reform programme as a whole. The allocation for the Senedd Reform programme overall was £2.2m in 2023-24 and is £1.2m in 2024-2025.
