What additional measures will the Welsh Government introduce during the remainder of this Senedd term to improve the provision of mental health care for cancer patients in Wales?
Our approach to improving cancer services was set out in the Quality Statement for Cancer in 2021, and this included a focus on person centred care and the need to deliver holistic needs assessment.
We have also recently consulted on our draft mental health and wellbeing strategy which includes a key priority that people should experience seamless mental health pathways which are person centred, and needs led. In October we will be publishing a consultation summary report. This consultation is informing the development of our final strategy and delivery plan.
