Further to WQ93966, will the Cabinet Secretary clarify what work has been and will be done by the Welsh Government to encourage the UK Government to make the change to the current 28-day move on period for newly granted refugees?

The Welsh Government has made the case to the UK Government for an extension of the 28 day newly-granted refugee move-on period. We have raised the need for a 56 day period at Ministerial and official levels, aligning with the Housing (Wales) Act 2014 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
My officials are continuing to advocate for this change with Home Office counterparts. I am due to meet the new Minister for Border Security and Asylum, Angela Eagle MP later this month.
