Will the Welsh Government seek to put in place in Wales a similar agricultural landlord and tenant code of practice as has been agreed for England in consultation between the UK Government and those organisations representing landlords, tenants and professional bodies?

We considered the Rock Review recommendations at the time of their publication, including the tenant and landlord code of practice. We concentrated on areas identified as priorities by our stakeholders, namely introducing new dispute resolution procedures for Farm Business Tenancies. This work has now successfully completed with the new regulations taking effect last month.

My officials, who maintain regular contact with their UK Government counterparts, are now assessing the relevance and potential impact of the remaining recommendations within a Welsh context. Further analysis and discussions are ongoing and we will take a wider view through discussions with our stakeholders before reaching any conclusions.
