What practical support is the Welsh Government offering young care leavers after the basic income pilot scheme ends?
We have worked closely with our partners to develop a minimum standard of support for each recipient as they transition off the pilot at the end of the two years. This builds on the existing support and pathway planning already in place for care leavers as they transition into adulthood. We have also put in place bespoke support for those on the pilot relating to financial wellbeing and general advice through the Single Advice Fund. Young people are encouraged to take up this support throughout the pilot and particularly during the final six months so that they can plan for transitioning off basic income.
