What action is the Cabinet Secretary taking to work with the British Film Institute to bring their courses, that allow people to explore careers in the film industry, to Wales?
The Welsh Government, via Creative Wales, has worked closely with the British Film Institute to help secure a new BFI Skills Cluster for Wales. Led by Welsh training provider Sgil Cymru, in close partnership with Creative Wales, BBC Studios, and Screen Alliance Wales, this project will provide £1.43M of funding for a new One Stop Shop initiative which will benefit those looking to enter the screen sector in Wales as well as those already working in the sector. In addition, Creative Wales has worked extensively with the BFI, Screen Scotland, and Northern Ireland Screen to secure funding for a new high end training initiative called International Horizons, which aims to boost production of scripted drama in the three nations and provide companies with the skills, knowledge and networks necessary to thrive in international markets.
