What discussions has the Welsh Government had with the Charity Commission for England and Wales on supporting their regulatory work around Welsh councils as sole trustees?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government | Answered on 19/09/2024

The regulation of charities, including the responsibilities of trustees within local authorities, is reserved to the UK Government and managed by the Charity Commission for England and Wales. The Commission provides detailed guidance to help local authorities navigate their responsibilities as trustees. I am not aware of any specific discussions with the Charity Commission about this matter.
