What discussions has the Welsh Government had with Pembrokeshire County Council on the challenges facing rural businesses?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for the Economy, Transport and North Wales | Answered on 10/09/2024

My officials meet with officials from Pembrokeshire Council on a regular basis to discuss regional economic priorities and to liaise on business support and regional needs. The Regional Economic Framework for South West Wales was co-designed with stakeholders such as Pembrokeshire Council and sets out an agreed and shared set of priorities for economic development within the region.

Visit Wales meets regularly with all local authorities, including Pembrokeshire Council, to discuss tourism related matters. Visit Wales also leads on the Regional Tourism Fora. Membership of the South West Wales Tourism Forum comprises representatives from the public and private sector, including Welsh Government, Pembrokeshire County Council and the other local authorities in the region.

Meanwhile, the Welsh Government continues to provide wide ranging support and advice for businesse; via Business Wales, as well as support for skills development, and investment in both transport and ICT infrastructure.
