Will the Cabinet Secretary roll out a digital firearms marker in Welsh GP records to ensure clinicians are able to quickly alert the relevant police force in the event a firearms holder has a change in mental health?

Digital Health and Care Wales have been leading work to change clinical coding practice on GP systems. When implemented, this coding change will enable all GP practices in Wales to use the Digital Firearms Marker by the end of 2026.
The current, non-digital solution for firearms will remain in use by practices up to the point of system migration.
